We were delighted to continue our presence at Avila College by delivering the new, two-storey St Teresa Library and Research Centre.
This new facility, which marks the final stage of the College's Master Plan, is situated in the heart of the school and provides a dynamic central hub for research, study, and collaboration. Notably, it features an exposed CLT and GLT structure—an innovative and environmentally sustainable alternative that also serves as a key architectural feature.
The ground floor accommodates a large collaboration space, staff offices, and meeting rooms. A centralised staircase with custom curved steel leads to the first floor, which houses the primary resource hub and additional staff workspaces. Localised demolition at the first-floor level was undertaken to create two link bridges connecting the new facility with existing buildings.
This project was recognised at the 2026 Master Builders Victoria Excellence in Construction Awards, winning in the category of Excellence in Construction of Commercial Buildings $5-10M.
