One example of this is our Belmont Redevelopment, delivered in partnership with Homes Victoria and Housing Choices under the Victorian Government’s $5.3 billion Big Housing Build. This project consists of 29 architect-designed apartments that combine environmental sustainability with social purpose. Each home is designed to be energy-efficient and accessible, meeting Green Star 5-Star, Livable Housing Australia Silver, and NatHERS 7 Star standards. With features such as rooftop solar, double-glazed windows, water-efficient fixtures, and communal gardens designed for food gathering, food production and residential enjoyment. The development is ideally located, showcasing views of the Barwon River Valley, and offers convenient access to Belmont’s shopping precinct, public transport, parks, as well as walking and cycling trails. The Belmont Redevelopment will house those at risk of homelessness, aged and disability pensioners, and women and children escaping family violence.
In Australia, 1 in 6 women experience domestic violence. Every woman deserves a safe place to turn to when leaving a harmful situation. That’s why our work within this sector also extends to delivering projects specifically for vulnerable women and families fleeing domestic violence. These homes, delivered for the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, are designed to provide secure, supportive environments for those who need them most.
