Breaking Ground At Al-Taqwa.

A New Chapter Begins.

We are delighted to share the official commencement of Stage 1 works at Al-Taqwa College in Truganina. The recent sod-turning ceremony signified an exciting milestone for the College and its growing community.

The occasion marked the beginning of a new chapter for the College, bringing together representatives from all project stakeholders to celebrate the next stage of its campus’ development.

As part of the College’s long-term master plan, the $11.4M project will deliver a new three-storey Upper Primary Learning Centre, providing contemporary environments designed to support the evolving needs of students, staff and the wider community.

Designed to accommodate three additional year levels, the expansion will deliver 18 modern classrooms, alongside flexible learning and gathering spaces, student amenities, dedicated wellbeing areas, staff workspaces, and associated landscaping works.

Delivered under a Design & Construct contract, the new facilities will replace existing portable classrooms, providing purpose-built spaces that encourage collaboration, connection and student development.

With construction taking place within a live, operational campus, careful planning, communication and coordination will be essential to maintaining a safe environment and minimising disruptions to daily school activities.

The project also includes significant in-ground services infrastructure works, requiring considered staging and construction programming to ensure the College can continue operating throughout delivery.

The recent sod-turning provided an opportunity to celebrate the beginning of an exciting collaboration.

The occasion brought together representatives from Al-Taqwa College, Newpol, Fontic Group, McIldowie Partners, and local MP, Sarah Connolly, recognising our shared commitment to delivering facilities that will benefit junior students for generations to come.

Supported by the Victorian Government’s Building Fund for Non-Government Schools, the project represents a significant investment in the College’s future and its ongoing commitment to providing quality educational facilities.

With completion anticipated in 2027, we look forward to working collaboratively with Al-Taqwa College and the wider project team to bring this important development to life.

This milestone represents more than the beginning of construction; it marks another step forward in the College’s vision to create modern, engaging and supportive learning environments for its growing community.
